What I want to share to the world?
The issue that matters to me deeply is misogyny, a prevalent social evil that undermines millions of women and young girls around the globe. Sexism resulted gender inequality, violence, discrimination and lack of opportunities being the consequences;which in turn diminishes human dignity. This talent of mine in communication could have made me bring forth change by alerting and educating more people to go out that advocacy for gender equality through different avenues. Either with quite exciting content, speaking engagements at events, or even just workshops, I can lead people into understanding how misogyny works on our society and why it is so important to challenge and dismantle it.
“To call woman the weaker sex is a libel; it is man's injustice to woman. If by strength is meant brute strength, then, indeed, is woman less brute than man. If by strength is meant moral power, then woman is immeasurably man's superior."
— Mahatma Gandhi
Now, misogyny is still a big problem around the world, more so in some areas like Afghanistan, where rights for women are limited. Feminism is needed because it fights for equality, not for females to be superior; it merely advocates for fairness and equal rights, opportunities, and respect among all genders. If people claim we don't need feminism, perhaps that can be seen from how gender inequality and social imbalances continue to exist. Fairness, not vengeance, just want it because the end goal is for a community where everyone, be it male or female, is valued and respected.
I hope to continue speaking out and raising others' awareness that will help more reflect on their attitudes and behaviors and thus assume more open behavior-toward-all-genders approach. Beyond this, I can use my communication skills to help organizations find the voice of their own experiences and to aid in organizing initiatives that are working toward making the spaces surrounding us safer and fairer for everyone.
